We will examine the role of the autonomic nervous system in symptoms related to PTSD. We will discuss how these symptoms manifest, how to measure the underlying physiological factors, and how to address them to foster feelings of relaxation and safety in populations affected by PTSD.
I can describe the two branches of the autonomic nervous system and how they impact day to day presentation in clients with PTSD.
I can explain ways to measure underlying physiology in clients affected by trauma.
I can explain the clinical utility of at least two interventions on the healing of trauma from a physiological basis.
